Infrastructure Sharing

Examples of mobile network sharing can be found in both mature and developing markets, with 3G providing an additional impetus to assess the commercial and regulatory viability of network sharing.

The GSMA has published a discussion paper that considers the types of network infrastructure sharing models that are available to operators; the strategic rationale behind network sharing; regulatory considerations and drivers; and technical and environmental issues.

This paper is based upon a series of interviews with mobile network operators and infrastructure providers, a literature review and analysis of existing examples of site sharing.

The Executive Summary and the full Infrastructure Sharing Report can both be downloaded from this page.
