Pilot programme
The Pilot Programme for the GSMAPathFinder Service commenced in April 2008 and is due to complete during the autumn of 2008. More than a trial, the pilot is designed to validate both the commercial and technical aspects of the implementation.
Operators participating in the trial will provision their own subscriber telephone number data into the PathFinder database and will query the data provide by others on a national and international basis. The pilot will encompass the live exchange of traffic enabled by ENUM.
A range of operational procedures will be exercised covering areas such as fault reporting, resilience, performance and security. These activities will be used to prove internal processes and ensure that targets for Service Level Availability are met.
Following the commercial launch of the service, the GSMA will establish a PathFinder User Group to drive development of the service going forwards. Operators will be given an opportunity to join this group and play a key role in shaping this key initiative.
To date, the following operators are actively involved in the pilot programme.
