Market Opportunity
Wide area mobile connectivity has matured to the point where a whole range of new and higher data rate applications is possible, and not just in the sphere of handsets.
But here’s the problem: many of the companies that could take advantage of this capability are not yet aware of its potential.
Most of the industry is focused on traditional M2M applications, primarily in the enterprise segment. This is a market that is projected to grow at over 30% CAGR, attaining unit shipment levels of about 90m units/year in 2012. However, this view of the market does not reflect the wider market potential especially in the consumer electronics and healthcare segments.

The time is now…
The timing is also right because the industry has reached a tipping point for 3G applications: commercial 3GSM networks are now up and running in more than 120 countries, with almost 300 million 3GSM connections worldwide, and some 200 HSPA networks operational.
