Netherlands: Electromagnetic Fields and Health (EMF&H) Programme

To keep track of new and existing EMF applications and to enhance the Dutch knowledge infrastructure in the field of electromagnetic fields and health.

Scope

  • Sociological and epidemiological research (a chair/research group, determinants of risk perception, social impact of precautionary measures and a prospective epidemiological cohort study).
  • Biological research (a chair/research group, human, animal and in vitro experimental studies involving all frequency ranges between 0 Hz and 300 GHz).
  • Technological research (a chair/research group, studies designed to improve measurement and modelling of EM fields and development of instruments for those applications).

Status

The first call for proposals was issued in September 2006. In January 2007 a continuous call for proposals was issued with a deadline of 31 December 2008. Grants are available to Dutch research institutions and universities. A total budget of € 1,200,000 is available in this call (14 exchange grants of € 50,000 and one international collaboration grant of € 500,000).
