Philippe Lucas

Philippe Lucas is the VP International Standards & Industry Relationships in the FT Group CTO Office. Before Philippe used to be the director for standards for Orange since 2002. Philippe is member of the Open Mobile Alliance Board of Directors, the Java Community Process Executive Committee, Liberty Alliance Board of Directors, LiPS Board of Directors, a former member of the GSM Association Executive Committee (2002-2003) and a former chairman of the Services Group of the GSM Association successively representing SFR and MTN South Africa.

Philippe was previously an independent consultant on telecom and mobile strategy for operators, manufacturers and government. Before Philippe was senior advisor for TIW to acquire UMTS licenses in Europe (UK & France). Before Philippe was in charge of the prospective marketing for fixed/mobile/internet convergence and UMTS aspects in SFR/Cegetel operator. Philippe started his carrier as a signal processing and system engineer in Matra Communication (acquired by Nortel Networks) to develop advanced solutions for GSM and UMTS systems. Philippe is graduated from the INPG in 1990 and has a master degree of signal processing.

Philippe has been very active in the GSM/UMTS/3G and multimedia services standardisation for the last decade. His main interests reside in the development of services and Internet environment applied to the mobile world ensuring operators to get maximum of revenue out of these evolutions.

Philippe is married and has three lovely children.
